(The travelogue as told by Mr. Anil Kumar, who has been a part Kerala.com Travel Division, Cochin for the past 12 years.)

DAY 1 (7th August): KOCHI – MUNNAR

After picking up the guests from the Cochin International Airport, we went off to Munnar in my Toyota Etios car. The route we took was through Muvattupuzha – Kothamangalam - Neriamangalam – Adimali. On the way we made a stop at the Cheyappara Waterfalls as well as the Valara Waterfalls. Being the monsoon season the water from the falls flowed with all its might. This gave the place a mesmerising look.

By the evening the guests were dropped off at the Aruvi Resort where they stayed.

DAY 2 (8th August): MUNNAR SIGHTSEEING

In the morning I took the guests to the Eravikulam National Park, where the guests enjoyed the natural flora and fauna of Munnar. This park is home to the endangered species of Nilgiri Thar. The guests were dropped at the parking lot from where they moved on to take the entry tickets. I parked the car in the parking lot as inside the national park only their safari bus and jeeps are allowed. After about 2 hours they returned back.

From here I took them to Dreamland Fun Park at Anachal, Munnar. Here there are a lot of fun activities for both young and old. 7D Motion Theatre, Mirror House, Horror House, Zip Line, Sky Walk, Water Walking Ball etc are a few of the amazing things the place has to offer.

The evening of the guests ended off with a Jeep Safari in Munnar after which they were taken back to the resort.

DAY 3 (9th August): MUNNAR SIGHTSEEING

In their second day at Munnar I first took them to see the Mattupetty Dam. This dam is a storage concrete gravity dam. The still and clear waters are the attractive feature of this dam. From here I took them to the Echo Point which is near the Top Station. Just as its name suggests, this place is known for the echo that vibrates when any person shouts. By evening we reached the Tea Museum, which houses many rare artefacts, photographs and machineries which showcase the history of tea making. The guests also got the opportunity of tasting various flavours of tea. After the days tour the guests were dropped back to the Aruvi Resort for their nights stay.

DAY 4 (10th August): MUNNAR – THEKKADY

After breakfast we left Munnar and went to Thekkady. We first visited the Spice Plantation in Thekkady. Here the guests came across various spices like Cardamom, Vanilla, Pepper, Clove, Cinnamon and Nutmeg.

From here we moved on to Elephant Junction where the guests enjoyed an elephant ride.

By the end of the day the guests were taken to Spice Valley Resorts for the night’s stay.

DAY 5 (11th August): THEKKADY SIGHTSEEING

The guests started off the day with a visit to the Periyar Wildlife Santuary, where they enjoyed a boat ride. After this they went on a jeep safari to Tamil Nadu. At Kambam in Theni, Tamil Nadu the guests came across farms of vegetables as well as grapes. On the way back they went to Sathram Hills of Thekkady which offered green and mesmerising views of the valleys and hills. The view of the mountains was indeed a great thing which the guests experienced. This place was perfect for the guests who took many pics.

After the return they were taken back to Spice Valley Resort.

DAY 6 (12th August): THEKKADY TO ALLEPPEY

We left Thekkady in the morning and went to Alappuzha/Alleppey.

On our way we made a stop at the Valanjamkanam Waterfalls at Peermade. The waterfall was in full force owning to the monsoon season.

After some moments here we proceeded on Alleppey, where the stay was arranged at Royal Homes. After getting refreshed, the guests went to the beach to have some fun with the sand and waves.

DAY 7 (13th August): BOATING IN ALLEPPEY

In the morning the guests made a visit to the Marari Beach in Mararikulam which is just half an hours’ drive. After enjoying at the beach they were taken to Poototha Backwaters where they enjoyed boating.

DAY 8 (14th August): RETURN BACK

As the trip came to an end the guests were taken back to the Cochin International Airport, from where they had their return flight. The guests gave a positive feedback and they were indeed delighted with this trip of Kerala.
